A preview of the Govt's plans to extend the Corredor Sur from Tocumen, which currently disgorges all it's traffic into Avenida Balboa close to MultiCentro via an overpass above the roundabout connecting Via Israel to Avenida Balboa and also adds local traffic into the mix............... total congestion every day. I cant' remember the exact number of lanes feeding in, but guess about 8 going down into 2 on Balboa. A place I prefer to avoid.
The new plan looks great in virtuality, but it remains to be seen what will be the result once the taxis do their thing, the potholes arrive due to poor construction and maintenance, and the locals treating the whole city as a giant litter bin.
Hopefully they will also remember to do something about the sewers that currently discharge directly into the bay and reduce the stink that pervades in the whole area at low tide.
